Game Galaxy to Close Rivergate Mall location 3/31/2010
Due to recent developments, and the arrival of yet another big family fun business named “Incredible Dave’s” , Rivergate Mall has asked us to remove all of our coin-op machines from the location. We have been asked to take out our arcade and pinball machines even though Incredible Dave’s has a TOTAL of three arcade machines at their only other location in Louisville, KY, and the rest of the machines are redemption based. It is sad when a so-called “big box” entertainment center whose main competition in the area is Chuck E. Cheese would stomp their feet and demand we take out our 70+ dedicated arcade and pinball machines. This is the SECOND of only three arcades in the Middle Tennessee area that have opened in the past two years and have now closed. Retro’s Arcade in Clarksville, TN closed their doors in March of this year.
If Incredible Dave’s really “cares” about OUR customers, they will have dedicated arcade and pinball machines that aren’t going to run the family dry. (Incredible Dave’s runs on a card system, so mallgoers that want to play Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga for 25 cents on their lunch break will be forced to purchase a card and probably won’t even have their favorite games to play.)
With this said, we are sad to leave the Goodlettsville area. Thanks to everyone that supported us during our three months at Rivergate Mall. Please visit our Hickory Hollow Mall location now at 118 games (all working as of 3/8/2010!)

Hey really sorry to hear about this. They don’t realize what they are doing. May real arcades live on for ever.
hey , I came today to hickory hollow but I couldnt find you, the gps drove me to a red lobster !!! . I asked some people there they say that you moved to rivergate mall , I’m lost , are you still in business and how can I get to you . thank you
Cimo — you have to go into the mall. Click “Find Us” on the top navigation.
This Sucks!!! There goes an amazing arcade : (
That’s a pretty terrible move by Rivergate Mall. I had only recently discovered the arcade and it had quickly become my go-to spot for a post-work cooldown. I hope you won’t give up on a second location north of Nashville. If you don’t want to stay in Rivergate, nearby Hendersonville has a lot of available commercial space for rent and most of what is on Gallatin Road is pretty affordable.
That’s pretty sad because your store appealed to more retro-gaming as opposed to family entertainment, it’s NOT the same audience. I was dissapointed to find out about this. Hickory Hollow Mall is 100 Oaks about 2 years ago, a dying location. I am deeply saddened this happened to you and believe Incredible Dave’s needs a reality check – mall merchants need to stick together. Based on Incredible Dave’s logic, the food court should only have ONE place that sells French Fries, one place that sells Cokes, one place that sells…. They need a good lesson in mall marketplace economics.
That’s awful, but this is the direction the industry is currently going. I’m totally stopping by next Saturday to check out the place, really excited. You don’t see anything LIKE this in Tennessee. Really glad I found your arcade!
Will you be selling any of your pinball machines?
